- Researcher wins NASA grant to study climate changes of monsoon Asia
- Dr. Hanqin Tian has been named as AU Alumni Professor since 2007, the stellar recognition of his contributions to Auburn University’s academic programs.

- Chi Zhang received Outstanding International Student Award from the Graduate School at Auburn University in 2007.
- Chelsea Nagy has been selected by US National Science Foundation as an EAPSI Fellow in 2007.
- Wei Ren has been selected by National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) as a Summer Fellow in 2007.
- Chi Zhang received The Bradley and Dukes Fellowship Award from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University in 2007.
- Daniel Chen received the 1st place award for the outstanding student poster at the Southeastern Society of American Foresters meeting in 2006. He also received the Westervelt Fellowship Award (2005 – 2006) from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University.

- Dr. Yiqing Li has accepted an offer of tenure-track faculty position from University of Hawaii and will assume the position in January, 2006.
- Drs. Hanqin Tian and Hua Chen win a new research grant from AAES Foundation, which investigates the Alabama’s Carbon Budget.
